TRADITION

For the past 10 or so years it has been
a family TRADITION for our family to
go BOWLING on the Saturday night
betwee n Christmas and New Years.
In the past the Alleys have had a thing
call "Moonlight Bowling", but they have
discontinued that, so we just go on our
own. The folks at the Bowling Alley all
love Tom, so we are given special treatment.

This year there was about 18 of us
all sizes and shapes.

Of course, we had the traditional LICORICE
The red was gone long before the
black
And there was the usual Nachos

You could see all kinds of bowling
form
From great tectnique
to not so great

Some had their own way
of getting the ball
to move were it was suppose
to go

We were all sizes and shapes.
From the YOUNG

to the very much
MORE MATURE

Can't tell you who is the best Bowler
But
take notice that Cortney managed
to best Scott

We all had a great time.

THANKS TO TOM AND JODI
FOR PUTTING THIS
TOGETHER FOR US.

You all

Come and join us

next year

THIS CHRISTMAS.....

This Christmas,
Mend a quarrel.
Seek out a forgotten friend.
Dismiss suspicion
and replace it with trust.
Write a letter.
Give a soft answer.
Encourage youth.
Manifest your loyalty
in word and deed.
Keep a promise.
Forgo a grudge.
Forgive an enemy.
Apologize.
Try to understand.
Examine your demands on others.
Think first of someone else.
Be kind.
Be gentle.
Laugh a little more.
Express your gratitude.
Welcome a stranger.
Gladden the heart of a child.
Take pleasure in the beauty
and wonder of the earth.
Speak your love
and then speak it again

President Howard W. Hunter
Wouldn't it be great if we all choose
three things ,
and worked really hard to
perfect them?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DORCAS

It was her 83rd Birthday.
No family to help her celebrate.
The other residents of the nursing home sang
"Happy Birthday"
That was all that she expected.
We are her "HOME TEACHERS"
Gotta have a party.
I called her Visiting Teachers,
The Relief Socity Presidency,
a few firends,
and we had a Birthday Party.

Pink Lemonade
Big yummy Cup Cakes, with sprinkles
(sugar free, because Dorcas needs that)
and
We had a shower of BIRTHDAY cards.

We surprised her with a lovely new blue sweater,

to replace the white one, she had lost.

That sweet 83 year old face, just glowed

with happiness.

I AM SO GLAD WE HAD A PARTY.

Christmas Lights

It's beganing to look a lot like Christmas
on Coors Drive.
It was only a few years ago that our house was the only
one on our block that had Christmas Lights. It was kinda
sad. But this year we all have the Spirit, and we are
lighting up the whole street. It looks great. A couple of
examples ................

I love the Christmas season.
Now if I only had my cards in the mail, my tree
trimmed, my presents purchased, my packages
mailed, my fruit cake baked and my house cleaned
I would be all set.
My Goose is cooked..

THANKSGIVING

Over the River and through the Woods
To Grandmothers house we go.
Yes... Thanksgiving dinner was at Grandma and
Grandpa's house this year.

The first time in a long while.
We had TURKEY and all the fixings.
Grandmother pulled out the CHINA, and the
CRYSTAL and even the good SILVER.
This was to be an
ELEGANT THANKSGIVING DINNER
And it was...................

BIG PROBLEM -

We just don't seem to have an Elegant Group.
After dinner they all got down on the LIVING ROOM FLOOR
and joined in to the 'BELLY CHUCKLE'

(for you novice, like me. That's when you lay with
your ear on each others belly and then you all
laugh at the same time)

It did keep us all laughing
PAYTON - Gave us all the biggest CHUCKLE.

Next came the

LEG WRESTLING.

Rachel took on John -------Winner Rachel

Jodi takes on Rachel......winner Jodi
Chad takes on Jodi............winner Jodi

Chad takes on Craig....and the winner is Craig.
Craig takes on Jodi...... and the winner is Craig.

CRAIG WAS CROWNED THE CHAMP

I really am thankfuf for a family
who plays together
and who has fun togeter.

But Guys....
Christmas has to be more
ELEGANT.

GO EAGLES

Last Saturday we spent a fun evening with

THE ALDRIDGE CLAN.

THE BROOMFIELD CHEERLEADERS
were in a tournment
with six or seven other CHEER
teams from the area.
The meet was held at Greeley West High School

Of course the star of the show for us was

KELLIE

We have heard a lot about the Cheerleading group
from Kellie, but this was the first
time we had a chance to see them
perform.

We were quite impressed

Each team did about a 3 minute
routine.

Lots of action.

After the performance
Just waiting for the
Judges to decide.

AND THE WINNER
IS...

BROOMFIELD HIGH

They really are very good.
and will be going
to Nationals in FLORDIA
this spring.

Great fun for our little Star
And what a great time we had
watching her.

THANKS KELLIE

PAMPERING

I guess that I have never given much
thought to FEET. Oh I know that they
are very important and I am really
glad that I have a healthy pair.

But I have always thought that feet
were one of the most unattractive parts of
the human body.

Lets just say: "I am not into FEET"

But I am into "PAMPERING"
(pam-per-ing = to treat with extreme care
and attention)

And what better way to be pampered than
spent an hour or so at the

PEDICURE SPA

Just sit back in the comfy chair, while the chair does
it's thing massaging your back.
You listening to soft music, while soaking your
feet in a relaxing whirl-pool of warm, sented
water.

Then this sweet little lady takes over.
She cuts, she clips and she files.
Then she rubs, she massages, and she
creams.

Then she starts the pretty part.
With great expertise she applies a base coat,
and then a ridge filler.

Then comes the bright colored ENAMEL.
and a final top coat to seal it all .

Like Magic

HAPPY FEET.

i guess that i am still not into feet, but i am absolutely into

PAMPERING

JASON'S SURPRISE

Jason made a quick trip

home this weekend.

but

he didn't come alone.

Her name is

ASHLEY CRIST

Ashley is a real cutie.

She lives in Prove, and they attend the same Ward.

They haven't been going together for

a very long time,

BUT

Jason said that it was time that the family

got to know Ashley.

Ashley is a Massage Therapist and an

avid skier.

She served a mission in Spokan Washington

and is now serving as an ordinance worker

in the Provo Temple.

She is the youngest of four and was

raised as a military brat.

JAY SAID " We have decided on December"

Les and Bruce said "Oh my! DID THEY SAY DECEMBER?'

Scott and Cortney said, "You mean THIS DECEMBER?"

The family said: "She fits right in"

Do you think Jason looks tickled?

AND WE ALL THOUGHT MITCH WOULD BE NEXT.

GREETING THE DAY

Greeting the Day

Dear Lord

So far today, I've done all right.

I haven't gossiped,

haven' t lost my temper,

haven't been greedy,

grumpy, nasty, selfish,

or over indulgent.

I'm really glad about that,

but, in a few minutes,

I'm going

to get out of bed,

and from then on

I am going to need a lot

of help.

OUR DAY AT THE TEMPLE

It was just 60 years ago today that we
knelt across the alter at the
TEMPLE
for the very first time
Today was so lovely and
the TEMPLE is so beautiful
and peaceful.
What a better way to
CELEBRATE

than to return to the
Temple with our
ETERNAL COMPANIONS
and do it again
I love the plaque on the desk in the Washington
D.C. Temple. This was written by
SPENCER W. KIMBALL
Enter this Door
as if the floor
were gold...
An every wall
of jewels, all
of wealth untold...
As if a choir
in robes of fire
were singing here
Nor shout
Nor rush
But hush
For GOD is here.

What a PERFECT day
