Our new sidewalk

.

Many years ago, when we moved into this house,

the sidewalk in the front was in a really bad state

of repair.

When it rained, or neighbors over watered their

lawn, we had a nice little pond out front.

.

Sometime last year we went to the Arvada Street

Maintenance and contracted with them to make repairs,

and a new cut on the driveway.

.

.

FINALLY THEY CAME.

THEY CAME WITH A DOZEN GOOD WORKERS.

.

THEY CAME WITH SEVERAL LARGE MACHINES

.

THE WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD SPENT THE

DAY JUST WATCHING

THEM AT WORK

.

THEY DID A GOOD JOB.

.

WE NOW HAVE A NICE SMOOTH SIDEWALK

AND NO CURB BUMP TO GO OVER IN THE

DRIVEWAY

.

Another job completed.

OUR BIG NIGHT OUT.

For QUEN'S BIRTHDAY, I decided to surprise him

with tickets to see the production of

'EVITA'

at the Arvada Center.

.

We got all set for a great night out.

Dinner and a show.

.

.

Dinner was great, but, the show was a disappointment.

I gave it about a 2 on a scale of 5

.

Guess I'm getting to be a complainer, faultfinder, or critic.

.

BUT I KNOW WHAT I LIKE.

WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND

A total of 12 gals got together for the

third annual SCRAP BOOK RETREAT

A four day MARATHRON.

.

The CREATIVE JUICES were overflowing

The FOOD was delicious and plentiful.

The SOCIALIZING was wonderful.

SLEEPING was just disregarded.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES

It was only yesterday, that I

looked out in my front yard

and saw that my Tulips were

growing like mad.

In fact I had one little Tulip plant

that was totally in bloom.

I really love the Spring when

everything seems to come

to life

.

And then!

I woke up this morning to a

whole different scene.

.

That's Colorado.

If you don't like the

weather.

Just wait a minute.

.

AND IT ONLY TOOK 3 MONTHS!

Last Christmas, Scott and Cortney

gave us a beautiful plaque to

hang on our wall.

.

At the same time Tom and Jodi

gave us a beautiful frame to

show off all our wonderful

Grandkids.

.

We decided that they

should be

displayed together. - SO

We started looking for pictures

.

.

Jodi came down and helped to

arrange the pictures in

the frame.

.

.
Then the task - Where and how to hang them?

We left that up to Dad.

.

I think it turned out GREAT

MY DECLARATION TO THE WORLD

I am about to abandon my SISTERS.

I am breaking ranks, I am abdicating my post.

I am deserting the ship, I am forsaking my past.

I am apostatizing from the FEMALE world.

I am about to declare to all who will listen:

"I HATE SHOPPING"

I know ladies, .... I sound like a traitor,

But, for three months I have been trying

to buy just a simple little dress.

Nothing fancy, just a nice little church dress.

.

Oh, I found a couple - mixed in with

all the PANT SUITS.

.

Some only came in a size 6.

Some had $150.00 price tags.

Most showed everything I had,

( or wished I had)

including my UNDERWEAR.

.

I guess I will just keep wearing skirts and tops.

But don't be surprise if I show up at church

wearing my
